Retrieving the PFX file from the Trustwave Control Center Retrieving the PFX file from the Trustwave Control Center
To begin the installation, download the PFX file from the Trustwave Control Center that corresponds to the e-mail address you would like to secure. Download the file to the computer on which you would like to install your Secure E-Mail Digtal ID. We recommend saving it on the desktop for easy access.

Once you have downloaded your PFX, make a note of your PFX code that appears in the Trustwave Control Center. This code is necessary to install your Digital ID on your computer.

Importing your new certificate Importing your new certificate
Double-click the PFX file and click Next when the wizard begins. The wizard will then display the location of your PFX, so press Next again. Now, you will need to enter the password for your PFX. Your PFX password is shown in the Trustwave Control Center next to where you downloaded your PFX file.

Type the code into the password field, and click "Mark this key as exportable". By allowing Windows to mark your key as exportable, you are allowing yourself to export your key and certificate later. If you ever need to purchase a new computer, you can export your certificate to the new computer if you check this option. If you choose to enable strong private key protection, you will be prompted for your confirmation whenever any program is attempting to access your Digital ID for any reason.

Press Next, then make sure that "Automatically select the certificate store..." is chosen. Press Next, then Finish, then OK. Your certificate and key are successfully installed in Windows, but you will still need to configure Outlook to use this certificate.

Choose Options in the Tools menu and then click the "Security" tab. Click the Settings button in the Encrypted E-Mail section. Next to Signing Certificate, click Choose and then select the e-mail certificate which you have just installed. The wizard should automatically fill in the Signing Certificate and Encryption Certificate fields, so you can press OK.

Within the Security Tab of Options, you can click "Add digital signature to outgoing messages" to automatically sign every message that you send. To have the best compatibility with your recipients, we recommend that you also select the "Send clear text signed message..." as well.

If you would like all e-mails to be encrypted when they are sent, click "Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages".

Click OK when you are finished. Your Trustwave Secure E-Mail Digital ID is now completely installed.
